Item 67
Mary Anne's house
Print by Barbara Jones,
in Recording Britain, Vol. 1 (Oxford, 1946), p. 15
The house, 1 Grosvenor Gate/93 Park Lane, occupying a corner site on Park Lane in London's Mayfair, is one of a bow-fronted group dating from 1823-7. It is only eight doors up from the family home of Sir Robert Peel in Upper Grosvenor Street. The two houses would have witnessed very different responses to the fall of Peel's government in 1846.
