In 1977, the year after his surprise retirement, the former Labour Prime Minister Harold (later Lord) Wilson (1916-95) made a television series, A Prime Minister on Prime Ministers. During the filming at Hughenden he was photographed standing next to his statue of Disraeli (see Philip Ziegler, Wilson: The Authorised Life of Lord Wilson of Rievaulx (London, 1993), Illustration No. 23, between pp. 466-7).
