Henry O. Coxe, Catalogus codicum MSS. qui in collegiis aulisque Oxoniensibus hodie adservantur (2 vols., Oxford, 1852).

Vol. I* contains descriptions of the MSS. of the following colleges:

  • Exeter
  • Oriel
  • Queen's
  • New
  • Lincoln

* Reprinted as H. O. Coxe, Catalogue of the manuscripts in the Oxford colleges, with an introduction by K. W. Humfreys (E. P. Publishing Ltd, East Ardesley, 1972).

Vol. II contains descriptions of the MSS. of the following colleges:
  • All Souls
  • Magdalen
  • Brasenose
  • Corpus Christi
  • Trinity
  • St. John's
  • Jesus
  • Wadham
  • Worcester
  • Hertford
Note that in each volume each college is treated in a separately-paginated section.

Most of the manuscripts acquired by these colleges since the publication of Coxe's catalogue are described in N. R. Ker, Medieval manuscripts in British libraries, III: Lampeter - Oxford (Oxford, 1983), 584-735, where further bibliography will also be found.

Coxe does not include an index of incipits, but this is partially supplied by A. G. Little, Initia operum Latinorum: quae saeculis xiii. xiv. xv. attribuuntur, secundum ordinem alphabeti disposita (Publications of the University of Manchester, Historical series, 11: Manchester, 1904) [Reprinted 1953: Burt Franklin bibliographical series, 7].
