Frederick Field (1801-85) was Rector of Reepham, Norfolk, and a Classical and Biblical Scholar. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
Collations made by or for Frederick Field for his edition of Chrysostom's Homilies on St. Paul's Epistles (Oxford, 1847-62). They are partly written in two printed copies of Savile's Chrysostom and one of Montfaucon's (1838).
The collection was acquired by the Library before 1898.
