The papers were among the manuscripts of the Le Flemings of Rydal Hall, and bear the numbers of the chronological arrangement of the whole series made by H. Maxwell Lyte in 1882, except for 23 letters at the end of MS. Don c. 40.
Immediate Source of AcquisitionThe papers were bought at Sotheby's in 1933 and given to the Library by the Friends of the Bodleian.
