Rev. Richard Furney (1694-1753) was Archdeacon of Surrey. He had been Master of the Crypt School at Gloucester from 1719 to 1724.
Manuscripts collected by Furney, relating to Gloucestershire, particularly the city of Gloucester.
The manuscripts were bequeathed to the Library by Furney in 1753.
