Richard Heber (1773-1833) was an MP, book collector and classical scholar. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
Manuscripts collected by Richard Heber, including material relating to Latin inscriptions, Latin language, the University of Oxford, 18th century literary figures, northern dialect and Greek history, BC 400-BC 320.
The manuscripts were either bought through Thomas Rodd at the Richard Heber sale, Part xi (manuscripts), 10-20 February 1836, or were purchased within the year from Thomas Thorpe, the London bookseller, who had previously obtained them at the sale.
