Two guard-books containing leaves of accounts, with some photostats, relating to the King's Works in the time of Henry VIII, taken from 16th-century bindings (executed in Oxford) of books and manuscripts in various collections. Some of the leaves are signed by Thomas Heritage and Thomas Gunnar and many are countersigned by David Marten, Comptroller of the King's Works.
Taken from volumes in the Library or given by the owners of the books in which the leaves were found, 1943-58.
