'Payments for Chancellor's Letters', i.e. for letters dispensing with some of the onerous requirements of the Laudian Statutes in the case of applicants for the degree of Bachelor of Arts, and occasionally other degrees, at Oxford.

The collection was presented to the Library by the Registrar of the University of Oxford in 1907 and 1908.
