Biographical / Historical

Edwin Ransford (1805-1876) was a singer and composer. For some years he also ran a music publishing firm based in London. He went into partnership in 1869 with his son William Edwin (d. 1890), who continued the business after his father's death. For further details see the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
