James Edwin Thorold Rogers (1823-90) was an MP, a political economist and a historian. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.
Rogers's papers include diaries, correspondence and other papers. There is also some uncatalogue material, for which a box list exists.
The papers were acquired by the Library in 1953 and 1982.
