John Hanson Sperling (1825-94) was an Anglican clergyman and antiquary.
Descriptions of coats of arms in Essex churches, with blazons of arms, compiled by J.H. Sperling. Each volume has indexes of parishes and arms.
The collection was bequeathed to the Library by S.A. Warner in 1948.
