John Watson (1790-1875), Rector of Selham and antiquary, matriculated at Brasenose College, Oxford, 16 May 1809, aged 19, and was afterwards Fellow of the College.
Manuscripts of John Watson, chiefly relating to the history of Cheshire and Lancashire. The collection also contains papers relating to Surrey and Yorkshire.
The collection was presented to the Library by Watson's sister, Mrs George Robinson, in 1875.
