Scope and Content

'Community Development in the Ahoada Division of Rivers Province of Nigeria' compiled by W.S. King, 1949-1952, comprising Part I: theory using examples of the Ikwerre-Etchie clans and Part II: a factual account of projects with photographs. The projects described include the building of roads, embankments, bridges, steps, schools, maternity lying-in wards, sub-dispensaries, markets, leper segregation villages, fish ponds, reading rooms and wells, and agricultural development.
