Major C.H.F. Blake (fl 1920-1990) was present in Malaya during the Japanese occupation, 1942-1945. He also served in Malaya as District Officer, was stationed at Government House, Singapore in 1948, and later held the post of Secretary of the Perak State War Executive Committee during the Malayan Emergency, 1948-1960. He was the author of A view from within. the last years of British rule in South-East Asia (Castle Cary, Mendip Publishing, 1990).

Major Blake deposited the papers with the Oxford Development Records Project, at the suggestion of Professor R. Heussler, on 16th November 1983.
