D. Anthony T. Thain, MBE (1963), was born in 1921 and educated at Nether Edge Grammar School in Sheffield; Latymer Upper School; and King's College, Cambridge. He was on military service during 1940 to 1945 (attaining the rank of captain) and in 1949 entered the Colonial Administrative Service in Northern Nigeria.
Reports, memoranda, texts of speeches, lecture notes, etc., relating to service as a District Officer in Northern Nigeria and as lecturer at the Institute of Administration, Local Government Wing, Zaria, 1949-1962.
