Biographical / Historical

The Bibliographic Society was founded in 1892 and is dedicated to the promotion of the study of the book and its history. In addition to encouraging research in the areas of bibliography and the history of the book trade, it also offers grants and awards for excellence in research in this field, and offers a series of lectures on the topic both for members and to the public through special events. The Society publishes a quarterly scholarly journal entitled The Library. It has also published a number of works in the fields of Historical bibliography, publishing and the book trade.

Arrangement

The Archive has been arranged in series. The materials, however, have not been further arranged at an item level and are in original order at the file level in most cases.
