Organisational History
The Leader's Consultative Committee is the most central of policy organs and the supreme
decision-making body of the Party. Also known as the Shadow Cabinet, its membership is
always by invitation from the Leader. Its secretary is usually the Director of the
Conservative Research Department when the Party is in opposition (Ramsden, John. The Making of Conservative Policy (Longman, 1980) p 4.).
Scope and Content
The CPA holds only the files of this committee while the Party is in opposition.
