David John Moore Cornwell (b.1931), pen name John le Carré, is a British author of espionage fiction, and former intelligence officer.
Proof copy of John le Carré, A Small Town in Germany (Heinemann, 1968), amended throughout by Julie Cockburn, a trainee proof reader at Heinemann in the late 1960s. The text is printed on the rectos only and at this stage lacks the closing words of the published version, ‘in a voice of Saxon calm’. Some of the pages have been misbound: as pp.1-148, 139-48, 159-307.
Given by Julie Cockburn, 2011.
