Sidney Joseph Madge (1874-1961) was an antiquary and topographer. Details are given in Who Was Who.
Collections relating to crown lands in England and Wales, compiled by S.J. Madge in preparation for a thesis on 'the legislation, surveys and sales of the royal estates during the Commonwealth', presented for the degree of D.Sc. (Econ.), London, 1929.
The collections were given to the Library by the compiler in 1941.
