Biographical/Historical

The 're-premiere' was organised by the Oxford C.S. Lewis Society. The group was established in 1982 and hold regular events relating to the author.


Scope and Content

Libretti, scores and printed ephemera relating to a 2009 ‘re-premiere’ of Perelandra, an opera based on C.S. Lewis’s novel of the same name, set to music by Donald Swann, with a libretto by Davis Marsh, originally performed in 1964. The later performance was given in Oxford, at Keble College and in the Sheldonian Theatre on 24 and 25 June 2009, and was presented by the Oxford C.S. Lewis Society.
