Biographical history:

Gabrielle Pike was the daughter of Edward Sydney Woods, Bishop of Lichfield, and a relative of Elizabeth Fry. Former Chairman [sic] of the Federation of Women’s Institutes (1961) and sister of Janet Stone, she was particularly interested in the Royal Family (members of which she knew), in Society events, and the doings of Cothill House preparatory school, of which her husband, George, became Headmaster.

Scope and Content

Two album scrapbooks compiled by Gabrielle Pike, 1949-1957, 1984-1988. The contents, relating to family occasions and current events, include photographs, printed ephemera, newspaper cuttings, letters and a few signatures of notable people. Some of the material predates 1949.
