Juratores p'dicti preaentant suis sacramentis .... quod consuetudines manorii p'dicti sunt bonon
usuales et effectuales ut sequuntur in his anglicants verbis

Imprimis: we finde that all Coppies or graunts made by the lord
of the Mannor of Cumner and membris to one in possession and to another in reversion in one
or severall coppies are good usuall and effectuall by our custome.

Item also the widdow and relict of every ooppyholder there
dyinge seised of any coppyhold lands whether he hold by coppy
or only admitted tenant in Court his fealty done shall or may
have her widdowes estate in the same whether shee be first second bold or fourth wife etc.
The herriotts rents and service payd.

Item any customary tenant is to forfeit hie estate uppon conviction of any treason, petty treason
or felony. Item no tenant may set or let his estate or customary tenement
by lease for terms of years certayne without Licence from the
Lord uppon forfeiture of the thing so letten.

Item the customary tenant may sell or let his customary tenement
for twelve months lackinge a day so the undertenant use it well
and orderly accordinge to custome.

Item the customary tenant may not cut downe.any Timber tree or
trees viz Oake, Ash or Elme growinge without license of the Lord
or his officers if he doe he is to pay treble damages for his
first offence by censure of the Homage for the second a forfeiture
of the ground wherein the trees do grow.

item the tenant may take to his owne use all lopp and shred and all manner of underwood
and also may cut the decayed pt of any tymber tree from the quicke and take to his owne use also
or otherwise sel and dispose of them without licence of the Lord.

Item all manner of werres sallowes witch hasels maples apletrees plumtrees wallnut trees
chestnut trees ser... trees crab trees and all manner of fruit trees also poplar alder elder
hasell whitethorne, blackthorne hornebeams briars furzes etc. are and have bin accepted used
taken and reputed for underwood by custom of the manner

Item the tenant is to be allowed all manner of grosse building tymber for the necessary
reparacone of his houses by the presentment of the Homage as also all manner of art and plough
tymber to be used in and about his tenement and also gate timber lath timber and ladder timber by
our custome.

Item the customary tenant is to keepe all his customary tenementsin reparacione at his owne charges being allowed grosse tymber so to leave them in the end of his tenure.

Item the customary tenant if he be in possession of the chance to
make any forfeiture any manner of wayes he does not hurt his estate that is in reversion.

Item all windfalls dead trees that are standing upon the tennant ground are the tenants
to dispose of by our custome.

Item if any widdow do not live sole and chaste she doth forfeit her estate by custome

Item any tenant dyinge seised of any coppyhold landes may by his
or her last Will and testament bequeath or give away from the next
to enjoy the same the use and all the whole profits of the same coppyholde af ter his or her decease
at an executor Yeare accordinge to the custome of the mannor that is to say if the tenant dy af ter
the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary then his executor is to enjoy
the same coppyhold until Michalmas come twelvemonth payinge all manner of rents services and
dutyes but if the sayd tenant dy before the annunciacon then the executors yeare endeth
at Michaelmes next and the widdow reversioner or the Lord is to enter forthwith upon
the fallow stoan meades and the pasture of comons for their cattle and on the barnes and
garden at midsummer and at Michaelmas on the whole tenement.

1 tem any tenant dying seised of any coppyhold Iandes there is to pay his best beast
for and in the name of an herriott and for want of such cattle his best moveable goodes on
the said messuage or tenement whatsoever.

item the tenante are to present any ruinous tenement and the same
to be amended by a day upon a payne set downe by the court and then if it be not done
by another day upon a greater fine and if not then the third time is a forfeiture.

item If any tymber be assigned. out of or from any tenants ground towardes the use and and reparacons of another tenant that then the lop top boughes and chippes doe
bv custome belong unto the tenant outof whose ground the aforesaid tymber was so taken.

Item the customary tennant is bound to to all leet courtes hundred courtes
courtes Baron and three weekes courtes there to do his
service upon due warning or also to be amerced for his default by
the direction of the court.

Item every customary tenant upon his admission and performance
of fealty in open court is as lawfull a tenant as he that holdeth
by coppy of court rolle although he hath no coppy at all and his
wife shall have and enjoy her widdowes estate according to our custom.

.Item any widdow may by her last will and testament bequeuth and
give away one whole year in her coppyhold to her executors according to their custome
in such sort as is before expressed.

Item there is no herriott due to the lord upon the death of any widdow that holdeth
in right of her owne widowhood.

Itent all coppies graunted in open court by the steward and signed by his hand are usual
good and effectuall.

Item any customary tenant may make a good and lawful surrender of his customary
tenement out of the lords court into the hande of any two of the customary tenants
of the mannor so that the same surrender be made in or upon any pte of the said mannor
and so brought and delivered into the lords court ( the stewarde then sitting) in or uppon
the very next court day then and there to be holden bait the pty tray revoeike the saftie surrender before it be delivered up into the lords court as also if the sany. surrender
be not then duly Delivered up in open court the very next court
day by same two tenents the sayd surrender is voyd and the aforesaid customary tenant
is in statu quo prius.

Item all the customary tenants of Stroud and Hillend have comon
of pasture yearly in all the meadowes called Summerford meades
pcell of the mannor of Swlnforde in manner and forme following viz. Every Michaelmas eve
at noone the said tennants are and ought to enter with their cattla into the same meades and
then the Lord of Swinford and his tenant are to avoide away all manner of their cattle out and from
the same untill the eve of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary then next cominge yearely.
In consideration whereof they the sayde tenants doo keepe and mainteyene yearly certaine
fences and moundes betwixt Comner wood and Summerford meades every man his pt.

Item the customary tenants of Hillend and Stroud and the Vicar of Comner are and ought to
have Pannage for their hogges every Mast tyme in Comner woode.

Item a meadowe called Oxlease neare Comner meade ought to be yearly enclosed and in....
upon the Eve of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to continue untill
Michaelmas eve next cominge yearly and then the same to be layd open yearly for the tenants of
Comner Chawley Hillend Stroud and Whitley to have their comon of pasture for their cattle
there yearly untill the eve of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary next cominge.

Item all the customary tenants of Botley are and ought to have the latter crop of a meadowe
called Botley meade in the County of Oxon from a place called the Shire Lake unto a
place called Bullstake from the feast of St Lawrence being the tenth day of August
untill the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary next
following yearly. But the fee farmers or tennants of the first croppe are to cut their grasse by
the first day of August and to ridd it by the aforesaid feast of St Lawrence

Item the said customary tenants of Botley are and ought to have the Pasturage of a meadow
called Oatelands beyond Bullstake and likewise of a meadow called Ouseney mead yearly from
the eve of St Michael untill the Annubciation next following and the fee farmers and
tenants of the same are to avoyde the sayd meadowe at the eve of St Michael the Archangell
yearly.

Item all manner of amercements found by the presentment of the homage at any court
there are and ought to be duly and orderly affered by the Steward and two or three of
the discreetest of the tenants being first sworne truly and indifferently to afferre the same
without partiallity or affection.
