SCHOOL MANAGER’S MINUTE BOOK

Jan 31, 1902. Present: Mr. T.J.B. Franklin, Mr. Fred May, Mr. Mark Lambourne, Mr. Percy Walker.

It was decided to push forward the cleaning and disinfecting of the school buildings so that the school, which had been closed on account of measles, could be reopened on the following Monday.

June 5th, 1912

Water supply. The Vicar laid before the meeting the analysis made by Mr. Fisher of Oxford (county analyst) of the Water taken from the well at the ‘Church House’ cottages. This analysis showed a marked similarity to that of the water taken from the school well and was found to be equally unsuitable for drinking purposes. It was suggested that the unsuitability arose from nearness of the churchyard.

July 30th, 1917. Present: The Vicar, Messrs Butterfield, Franklin, Wastie, Wyatt and the Chairman.

The question of the Closing of the School for the Summer Holidays was discussed, and it was resolved that those should of five weeks commencing in the month of August, with an additional week in the Potato picking season.

Jan. 31, 1929

Mrs.A.Lock, caretaker of this school, resigned after holding the post for more than 50 years.
