| Finding maps on OLIS | |||
| STEP ONE | |||
The first step is to connect to OLIS
via GeoWeb |
| STEP TWO | |||
The second step is to Click Keyword searching, then click Limits:
| STEP THREE | |||
The third step is to set the limiting date(s) and material type to Maps, as shown here. NOTE: If you do not limit by dates(s) you may find that several hundred records are retrieved!
| STEP FOUR | |||
Now you can enter your search term. In this example, a search is made for maps of Sudan:
| STEP FIVE | |||
The results of your search will now be displayed like this:
To view the full record details, click Full Record. To save the search results, click Mark. You can print the search results (if a printer is available) or if you are searching within Oxford University you can e-mail them to yourself. |
And finally... a couple of points to bear in mind when searching for maps on OLIS: 1. You may not get exactly the same results if you search by title rather
than subject. |
