This selection of images is taken from items in the map collections. Some of the maps have been reduced to fit a normal screensize, but reducing maps sometimes loses the detail, so other images are extracts from the whole map. New images will be added on a regular basis, so keep looking in! To improve download times, the thumbnails are now on separate pages, with five images to a page. To go to the first page of thumbnails, click the button below.
To download an image, simply click the .gif or .jpg option as required. A descriptive list of the images can also be downloaded.
A reproduction service including both colour and monochrome prints and slides is available.

COPYING OF IMAGES FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY
You may view or download the images to your workstation and store them, and you may make one hard copy without further payment or permission, provided this is done for purposes of private study only.
You must include the copyright notice and Bodleian reference (shelfmark and page or folio number) as found below each image in the copy you make, whether in electronic or other form.
You may also display the single personal copy for purposes of an academic lecture or seminar, provided that no further duplication occurs or is allowed to occur.
You may not duplicate the image in any medium for another person or institution.
You may incorporate the URL for a image, but not the image itself, in your personal hypertext document. The purpose of this restriction is to preserve the integrity of the image by ensuring that image files are always downloaded direct from the Oxford University server.

If you wish to reproduce an image for publication in electronic or any other form you must obtain the specific written permission of the Bodleian Library in advance; a fee will usually be charged.
