Benjamin Morgan. [Seller of] Asses Milk. At the Ass and Foal (1794)

The sale of ass’s milk was common in the 18th century. It was felt to be purer than that of cows and was used for invalids and children. This trade card for Benjamin Morgan is earlier in style than its ostensible date (from a manuscript receipt on the verso) of 1794.
