Inoculation. J. Salisbury. Bampton (1802)

Inoculation was popularised in England in 1721-22 by the writings of Lady Mary Wortley Montagu who observed the practice in Turkey. Edward Jenner began experiments with inoculation against smallpox only in 1796, so inoculation was quite new in the West in 1802.
