Thomas Rollason. Manufacturer of Cut Glass to the

Royal Family. Dealer in China, Earthenware &c. Birmingham

These two trade cards for the same Birmingham china and glass business give us the opportunity to see two interior views by the same firm of engravers. It would seem that the work Radclyffe & Co.’s many engravings of Birmingham (used extensively for trade cards) were intended for (History of Birmingham & its Vicinity) was never published. Mary Rollason & Son appear in the 1830 volume by William West: The History, Topography and Directory of Warwickshire. By the time Thomas Rollason took over, the royal crest of arms was proudly displayed and the firm was able to head its trade card ‘By special appointment.’
