This trade card and trade blank engraved by W. Newman imply that this was a stock design, although the illustration of the premises seems relatively specific. Another blank engraved by W. Newman is shown in part 12, together with cards which use the same plate. Generally, however, the lack of repetition in his work suggests that he worked to commission and illustrated specific trades, products and premises.
