The early history of Oxford trade is poorly represented in the John Johnson Collection (and, indeed, in other collections). Oxford trade in the later 19^th and early 20^th centuries is more amply, but very far from comprehensively, represented. Some examples of Oxford trade to the mid-19^th century are shown here (see also no. 191).
