Eynsham Morris in Albania
During 1997 Eynsham Morris raised over £7,000 for medical equipment in Korçë, Albania, and in May 1998 the side went there to hand over the money and to dance for the entertainment of the people there. We received a tremendous welcome, and hope to post some pictures and an account of the trip shortly.
One of the places we visited was the Tefta Tashko Koço School of Music. They are trying to provide musical education with almost no resources. For example, there is just one piano in the School which is in constant use 16 hours a day in half-hour sessions. The music they use is laboriously copied out by hand from the few pieces of printed music they have.
We want to help the School to provide a good musical education. Although shipping a new piano to Korçë might not be practical, we can help them with printed and recorded music. They told us the music they most urgently need. If anyone has old/unwanted cassette recordings or sheet music for any of the items below, we can guarantee them a home where they will remain in constant use for the benefit of the people of Korçë.
