NTF2MIF translates Ordnance Survey
NTF files into MapInfo Interchange Format (MIF). It is the only
free NTF to MapInfo translator available which supports all data sets
available through Digimap. Version 3.5 now
available Updated April 2007.
NTF2MIF now translates CODE-POINT NTF |

 |
OSM2MIF |
OSM2MIF translates the new Ordnance Survey MasterMap data in
GML format to MapInfo Interchange Format (MIF). MasterMap will
be available to Digimap users in 2007 (from January for the early
adopter sites and from September for all others).
OSM2MIF translates all three MasterMap layers currently available
(Topographic, Address and Integrated Transport Network). It can
handle single files or multiple files by batch processing. This new
version fixes errors occuring with polygons containing inner 'holes'.
It also creates a new layer with topographic landforms (e.g: slopes).
These are transparent so they can be overlaid on the topo layer.
It is recommended that all users update their existing version.
|
| |
|
|
| |
|
NOTE: OSM2MIF has been designed primarily for DIGIMAP
users, many of whom do not have access to commercial translators.
It has been tested with the sample data available on the OS website,
but it cannot be guaranteed to work with gml produced by other software.
Users are welcome to report any problems and where possible these
will be accomodated in new versions of the program.
For more information about MasterMap, see the Ordnance
Survey website

TOMS2XYZ converts Total
Ozone Mapping Spectrometer data into a delimited text file containing
lon, lat and value for each point, ready to use in a GIS or other
software. |

Conversion
Tools |
UPDATED!
MapInfo requires coordinates to be
in decimal degrees (lon/lat) or metres (OS national grid). However
your table may be in degrees:minutes:seconds or conventional (letters
and numbers) OS grid format. These have to be converted to decimal
deg. or metres respectively before you can map them. Conversion
Tools is a free MapInfo tool which converts tables of lon/lat
in conventional format into a mappable table with points in a
single step. It also converts tables of British and Irish OS grid
references in conventional letters and numbers format to mappable
tables with points in the same way.
You can also enter a single coordinate pair or OSNGR and plot
it on a mapper. Conversion Tools is an essential add-in tool for MapInfo
users. Updated 18.09.05 |

| NTF2MIF
- Ordnance Survey NTF to MapInfo MIF Translator - Updated
2007 |
| Version
3.5 is now available - download it now! |
|
|
Why do I need NTF2MIF?
Ordnance Survey digital data (available from DIGIMAP) is supplied
in NTF format, which MapInfo cannot import. NTF2MIF translates NTF
data files into MapInfo MIF (MapInfo Interchange
Format). MIF files can then be imported and opened in MapInfo.
Once the files have been imported, they are saved as MapInfo tables
(.tab files).
What's new in Version 3.5?
Code-POINt NTF is now supported
Previous updates:
Version 3.4: Boundary-Line added and minor bug fixes.
Version 3.3: Improved handling of large data files. MIF
syntax error in selective Strategi layer processing fixed.
Version 3.2: New version of Meridian 2 now supported.
Version 3.1: OSCAR datasets added
Default folder for opening NTF files and saving MIF/MID files can
be set.
|
|
|
|
|
Features:
Multiple NTF files can be translated at once. Files can
be merged to create a single, seamless MapInfo table. Text objects
can be translated to a separate layer.True-type fonts can be used
(to display cartographic symbology). Network data can be extracted
from Meridian 2 and Strategi data. NTF2MIF is fast and easy to use
and is the only free translator which translates all DIGIMAP
data products.

| Installing
NTF2MIF |
| NOTE: If
you have a previous version of NTF2MIF, uninstall it BEFORE installing the
new version! |
| |
| Download the .zip file to a temporary folder,
unzip it, then run the file setup.exe to start installation. The
program will by default create a folder in your program files folder and
install itself. NTF2MIF has help which guides you through the simple steps
to translate files. The installation files include a user guide in rtf format. |

| OSM2MIF
- Ordnance Survey MASTERMAP to MapInfo MIF Translator |
|
NEW Version 2.0 now available - download it now!
This new version fixes errors occuring with polygons containing inner 'holes'.
It also creates a new layer with topographic landforms (e.g: slopes). These
are transparent so they can be overlaid on the topo layer. It is recommended
that all users update their existing version. |
|
Why do I need OSM2MIF?
Unlike Ordnance Survey Land-Line data (available
from DIGIMAP) which is supplied in NTF format, MasterMap is in
GML format. Versions of MapInfo prior to v 8.0 do not support
the full import of OS gml. OSM2MIF translates MasterMap data files
into MapInfo MIF (MapInfo Interchange Format).
MIF files can then be imported and opened in MapInfo. Once the
files have been imported, they are saved as MapInfo tables (.tab
files).
|
|
|
Features:
OSM2MIF translates all three layers (topographic, address
and ITN). Attribute data is maintained (currently not all routing
data in the ITN layer is supported, but this may be improved in
a later release). Update versions of MasterMap include Departed
Members and a list of these can be extracted using OSM2MIF. Single
or batch file processing is possible.
A free MapInfo tool (OSM Batch Import) is included - this will import
all layers in a single operation.
